The commissioning process can be broken down into these four stages:
1. First Contact
This is when you first contact us via phone, email, social media or in person. At this point we would like to hear what you would like to have made, the theme of the artefact, location in which it'll be situated and your price range. An image or a sketch of what you would like made and an image of the setting would help us understand what you're looking for and we can further develop your ideas.
3. The Making
During the making process, you are more than welcome to come and visit us at the forge, to see how your commission is coming to life using techniques developed over 4,000 years.
2. Design and Quote
Using the ideas and requirement you give us we will produce drawings and sample pieces which we can then discuss and develop until you are satisfied with the design. We will also need to discuss forging, fixing and finishing options. We may need to make a site visit to take measurements and to view the location in which the artefact will be situated. Once everything is agreed upon and the completion date is confirmed we will ask for a deposit to cover material costs.
4. Delivery, Installation & Payment
Once the commission has been completed it can be collected from the forge. We offer a delivery and and installation service. We will then require payment on completion or delivery.
